Camille Asmer

VVBM Head Trainer
Camille Asmer, the brains behind Sit, Stay, Play Animal Training and Behavior, is a certified pro in the world of dog training. She’s proudly earned multiple titles including Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC), Accredited Dog Trainer (ADT) from the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), and Certified Behavior Consultant Canine (CBCC), alongside being a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT).
Camille’s journey began with a passion for training service dogs for veterans and people with disabilities. This ignited her fascination with animal behavior, leading her to dive deep into studies, eventually earning certifications in behavior training.
Camille’s gig thrives on bringing hope to clients and fostering strong, happy bonds between owners and pets. She’s all about positive reinforcement-based training, excelling in handling canine aggression and fear-based behaviors. Collaborating closely with vets in Charlotte, NC, she guides clients to understand, train, and revel in harmony with their furry companions.
A self-proclaimed “dog nerd,” Camille devours all things canine and also volunteers as a parrot trainer with Companion Parrots Re-homed. Her passion extends to mentoring aspiring trainers.
When she’s not immersed in the dog world, Camille treasures family time with her husband, three kids, a grandson, and her two beloved Labrador Retrievers.
Dr. Kristina Baucom
DVM
VETERINARY BEHAVIOR RESIDENT
Dr. Kristina Baucom’s journey in the field of veterinary medicine has been nothing short of remarkable. She earned her undergraduate degree in Medical and Public Health Microbiology from Cal Poly State University. Following her passion, she completed her veterinary education at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015.
Since her graduation, Dr. Baucom has gained extensive experience in various veterinary settings, including general practice and shelters. In 2016, she embarked on an inspiring journey as a forensic veterinarian with the ASPCA. In this role, she not only conducted crucial forensic investigations but also shared her expertise by teaching Veterinary Forensic Medicine at the University of Florida. Her contributions extended to research, with the publication of a noteworthy paper and case series. Dr. Baucom’s dedication also led her to collaborate on both small- and large-scale criminal animal cruelty cases nationwide.
Through her impactful work, Dr. Baucom came to recognize the profound significance of behavioral medicine in enhancing the welfare and quality of life of all animals, transcending the boundaries of cruelty cases. She has recently spent a year at Ohio State University as a veterinary behavior resident, furthering her knowledge in this critical field.
Now, Dr. Baucom is excited to continue her journey as a resident with VVBM, where she aspires to make a positive difference in the lives of animals and their families. Her dedication to improving animal well-being and her extensive background make her a valuable addition to the VVBM team!
Amy Shenberger

Fear Free Certified Professional
Meet Amy, a Charlotte, NC native who’s proud to call it home with her husband and an abundance of feline friends. Her journey into the world of veterinary care began in 2020, but her love for animals dates back to her childhood. Amy is more than just a pet enthusiast; she’s a Fear-Free certified veterinary professional with a background in customer service and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, earned in 2014.
When she’s not caring for furry companions, Amy channels her creativity into various craft projects and indulges in her love for reading. Her growing family of fur kids keeps her heart and hands full!
Amy’s passion knows no bounds; she’s dedicated to making the lives of pets and their owners better, not just in Charlotte, but nationwide. Thrilled to be part of the VVBM team, she’s excited to continue her mission of improving the well-being of our beloved animal companions and their devoted humans.
Kelly Keebler

VVBM Head Trainer
Kelly is a seasoned professional in the field of canine behavior, holding certifications as a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) and a Certified Family Dog Mediator (FDM). With a wealth of experience garnered from diverse dog training facilities nationwide, Kelly embarked on her teaching journey in 2011 at PetSmart in Pennsylvania.
Her expertise extends beyond the classroom, as she has actively contributed to multiple dog daycare facilities. Kelly’s passion lies in keenly observing canine body language and implementing various safe strategies to manage playgroups. During her time in California, she further honed her skills by completing the Karen Pryor Academy Dog Trainer Professional (KPA-CTP) Program in 2017 and obtaining her Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) certification in 2019.
Continuing her commitment to professional growth, Kelly pursued additional certifications through the Aggression in Dogs Course and the Living and Learning with Animals Course, ensuring she remains at the forefront of her field.
Dr. Maggie O’Brian
DVM, MS, DACVB
Board Certified Veterinary Behaviorist, Managing Partner
Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Maggie O’Brian earned her bachelor’s degree in animal nutrition from Ohio State University and then continued her educational journey, achieving her veterinary degree from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017.
After graduation, Dr. O’Brian spent one year in an emergency and primary care practice, gaining valuable experience. Her passion for helping animals and understanding their behavior led her to pursue an intensive 3-year residency program in Behavioral Medicine at Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine, which she successfully completed in 2021. It was in October of that year that Dr. O’Brian proudly became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorist.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. O’Brian’s heart is at home in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she resides with her husband, Colin, their adorable young son, Walter, and their naughty but sweet Beagle mix, Mashed Potatoes
