About Us

Virtual Veterinary Behavior Medicine

Virtual Veterinary Behavior Medicine (VVBM) is a groundbreaking nationwide service that empowers both veterinarians and pet owners to address and resolve behavior problems in pets from the comfort of their own homes. With the click of a button, this innovative brand connects pet parents with a Board-Certified Veterinary Behaviorist, ensuring expert guidance and support for pets facing behavioral challenges. We treat a wide range of behavior problems, including generalized anxiety, aggression, separation anxiety, compulsive disorders, noise fears/phobias, senility/cognitive decline, inter-cat aggression, inter-dog aggression, car ride anxiety, and many more!

In addition to our behavior consults, we offer virtual training services, available independently or alongside our behavior services. Training is often key to behavior management, and our trainers collaborate with the veterinary behavior team to create customized plans. Goals may include polite leash walking, barking, jumping, leash reactivity, or muzzle training. We also incorporate enrichment games to keep learning fun and engaging!

Virtual PET Training

At VVBM, we aim to uncover the root cause of your pet’s undesirable behavior and guide them toward a more favorable response. Through collaboration with our trainers, you’ll employ positive reinforcement and evidence-based methods to enhance the behavior of your dog or cat while fostering trust, confidence, and effective communication! It’s difficult to know where to start when navigating your pet’s unwanted behavior challenges and beginning a pet behavior modification plan. Our experienced staff offers personalized guidance for your path forward!

Our Veterinary Team

Our Virtual Veterinary Team

Our team strives to enhance the well-being of animals and assist veterinary professionals across the country with the least amount of stress possible. We are dedicated to helping you with your pet’s behavioral issues, regardless of their nature or location. Our remote services enable us to observe the situation in real time and provide you with immediate feedback. We’re your extra set of eyes and guidance!

What To Expect

Your Primary Care Veterinarian’s Involvement

Your primary care veterinarian plays a crucial role in your pet’s well-being. For our veterinary behavior service, referral from your primary care veterinarian is an essential and required component of working with VVBM. Legally, we must partner with your primary care veterinarian to make any behavioral health recommendations. We also cannot prescribe any medications directly for your pet. This is because of our lack of an established veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) due to the virtual nature of our consultations. A referral is not required for training services, however.

Sophie and Baxter have been seeing Dr O’Brian for several months and we can’t say enough about her. She is outstanding. I don’t know where we’d be without her. Her knowledge of both behavioral medicine and veterinary medicine is outstanding. She is so friendly and works amazing with our specialty vet in our home state. Our cats have made so much progress under her care!
